It was a night to remember…
To celebrate Halloween we organised a group, night-time paddle board session down the River Thames. Once the pumpkins were mounted to the boards and the lanterns lit we headed off into the wilderness.
In true halloween spirit we decorated the boards with illuminations and everyone was asked to bring their decorated pumpkin to the session, it had to be a real one, not plastic and to dress up if they wished. There were prizes for the best dressed of course!
Our mixed ability group of 15 then set off on their paddle boards down the Grand Union Canal from Harefield trick or treating the moored canal boats along the way. Stretching 137 miles, the Grand Union links London to Birmingham with 166 locks and passes a whole range of landscape from rolling countryside to industrial towns.
Along the route we played some team race games and other fun activities, then on the way back we split into groups to accommodate those who wanted to go faster, and those wanting to take a more leisurely pace.
It was a really fun, lighthearted event with a pub dinner at the end, what more could you ask for!
